Thank you! I forget to go past the literal interpretation, and I see myself saying, “I haven’t done anything crazy like move a mountain, so I must not have any faith.” But I forget that faith isn’t just about the miraculous, it’s about the everyday. I need to find the mountains in all areas of my life!

Absolutely beautiful reminders – that God *does* move mountains. Perhaps the biggest struggle in today’s rapidly paced society is taking a time to recognize when He has moved mountains! I think all too often, we get wrapped up in living, and appealing to Him, and we forget to see when He has moved a mountain.

That’s not to say recognizing it after the fact is bad – because sometimes that is the only way to clearly recognize the moved mountain. But, I think the point is to recognize when the move has occurred!

Thank you for the reminder! (And, I chuckled when you said you have a tendency to take things a little too literally…) 🙂

I love this Amy! I have always been a big believer in the way God can move moutains. It was just one of those things my mamma always pounded into my mind growing up. That and tithing! She is a woman of incredible faith. I really needed to read your story today becuase I am in a situation where I have to have faith that God can MOVE in areas that I feel are hopeless.

I can remember as a child trying to make things physically move with faith after hearing this scripture! Your figurative explanation makes a lot more sense!

Wow – I love how you said,”you just have to STAND STILL and look up…” That made me think – well Our Lord does tell us, “Be still and know that I am God”. Perhaps that’s the key – be still – stop moving so much ourselves and watch Him move the mountains! Thank you!!!

I was always literal with the moving mountains too, especially growing up. I didn’t see any mountains moving so … well.. how come? It is true though, so many mountains have moved along life’s journey that you just have to stand still sometimes, look up and say – Wow! I love your blogs, they have helped my faith grown in so many ways you will never know but you touched me deeply. Blessings – Alicia
