“The “Be Yourself” journals are perfect for my two daughters (age 10 and 12). I love the mix of journal prompts, questions for them to learn about themselves, prayers, Saint info, and coloring! They are able to develop their prayer life and learn about themselves at the same time. What a great tool for them to begin a lifelong relationship with God! They are having so much fun filling out all the pages and I also love how it keeps them busy. This is such a great gift idea for middle school aged girls!”

This is what Our Blessed Mother told Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830,

It was months later when Our Lady revealed the design of the Miraculous Medal to Catherine that includes the simple and powerful prayer;

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you”.

Saint Catherine Laboure is a great example of doing the right thing and being quiet and humble. Her experience of seeing Our Blessed Mother and even putting her hands on her lap are extraordinary… but she only told her Spiritual Director and a Bishop. She lived, worked and served others for decades after this experience and never told anyone!!!!

In a world where we are constantly sharing everything, there’s a lesson there.

When writing the Be Yourself Journal for girls, I got the same “vibe” from Saint Katharine Drexel. In her Saint Spotlight letter this sentence is at the end of her message:
“Do good work, but be quiet about your charitable acts.”

This is hard! But let’s try harder!

This weekend our family had so much fun giving out

This weekend our family had so much fun giving out Cozy Catholic Christmas catalogs in our parish after all the Masses!

Our parish’s mission is to help all people to see that the GREATEST GIFT anyone could ever receive is JESUS CHRIST himself. The community over at @catholicsonline wants to help people see that too and we thought sharing these gifts that inspire prayer would be a great way to do it!
