I think it’s great! It’s really well done and well thought out. The artwork and design works great with the book as well. I thought the personal story about the running gift was so good! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought to myself, “Is drawing comic books really making any kind of difference?” As a father of four boys who love to draw and write as they’re falling asleep, I think this is the perfect journal for them!

After the difficulties of distance learning, isolation, and Covid in general, I gave this journal to my 4 oldest boys at the beginning of the 2021/2022 school year, as this was our first year deciding to homeschool. Immediately, they spent every spare moment they could reading and filling out their journals. The make your own prayer on the back was really neat. They each came up with a different prayer and a different way of highlighting or crossing out words they were including or excluding in their prayer. This was such a great way for my boys to spend some thoughtful quiet time. They told me that they really enjoyed the coloring and how cool the pictures were.
My 4 oldest boys are in 1st, 4th, 6th, and 7th grades.
We’ve also gifted the journals to cousins at Christmas and they were a hit.

Wow, I don’t even have children age appropriate for this book and yet I found MYSELF reading through it like they say about a “page turner” when talking about a good novel! This journal is so well done. It’s very well thought out. The design work is elaborate and unique (not just boring white pages filled with text). Most importantly, the content will engage an age appropriate reader and he will get so much out of it. I highly recommend making this purchase.

This is a Spiritual Work of Mercy. A dear friend (and boy-mom) has been in my prayers. Between homeschooling, learning issues, health challenges, the death if a beloved pet, and a blindside episode of external persecution, her family has been through way too much lately. So I got a copy of this journal for each of her sons. They excitedly received them! Just having an avenue for quiet time is a gift to my friend. My hope is that the boys can express some of what they’re dealing with, and that the Holy Spirit will give them fortitude, peace of mind, and a fun, healthy, holy escape. Additionally, it is gorgeous and high quality, and worth every penny.
