I was so tired of feeling like I couldn’t afford

I was so tired of feeling like I couldn’t afford to go on a fun and fruitful retreat or pilgrimage… so I created one that I could afford.

Money and family obligations prevented me from going away to an Italian wine and shrine pilgrimage… but then I took a closer look at where I live and improvised.

The first Prayer Wine Chocolate Retreat included a visit to the Saint Katharine Drexel Shrine and two local wineries.
Since then we’ve visited at least 3 other shrines and even had an entire Retreat Day at a Vineyard/Winery.

I’ve had attendees tell me my retreats are “like Christmas for moms”!

But I understand not everyone lives in driving distance from Philadelphia… so I wrote a DIY Retreat Guide so that YOU —- YES YOU-

I wasn’t expecting her request…

The other night I changed up my “tuck in routine “ with the twins.
Normally I play someone singing the Hail Mary from YouTube as I lay on the floor next to the bed. (This started as me singing to them but then I realized I could play it and it sounds much better, plus I’m 😴 🥱 😂)

But one night last week I turned on Hallow and played the Rosary led by @jonathanroumieofficial
I did this because I’m trying to pray the 54 day novena and I had missed praying that day.

So, I played the whole Rosary.

After it finished, I heard this request:

“Can you play it again?”

Sure, I said.
I played the next one and within minutes, she was fast asleep. 😴

Last night when I was just beginning to tuck her in she said, “can you play the prayer?”

She meant the Rosary on @hallowapp , not the song.

So I did.

This is just one way the Hallow App has been helpful to me. If you want to try it, I have been blessed to been given a special l*nk.

I thought I’d end up sharing a checklist.
I learned that simple faith is so much bigger than all the researching and networking and effort any person can do.

We need faith.
We need hope.
We need to come together in prayer.

Then we need to notice the glory and MAGNIFICENCE of God.

What was my second reason?
I wanted to write Christmas gift guides that had faith-centered gifts to help others to keep Christ in Christmas.

God continues to dazzle me in this venture…

Last year I was blessed to be given a special affiliate link from Hallow.

The Hallow app is an incredible tool that helps me pray and especially pray with Scripture.

This past week - I was emotionally charged with posts on social media about the Olympics - I was tempted to engage - but instead, I walked away.

I think that the devil loves division and distraction - but he hates prayer.

Something AMAZING happened in Paris
in 1830.

It happened to Saint Catherine LaBoure and she didn’t tell anyone accept one priest!!!!
DECADES past and she kept quiet about all she experienced.

Our Lady appeared to her, multiple times and she told one priest.

A medal was casted by the royal jeweler and worn by every Sister in her Congregation was revealed to her by the Blessed Mother and she told NO ONE but that one priest for decades!

In an age where we post almost every thought and opinion we have… perhaps we should ask Saint Catherine Laboure to pray for us.

Let’s read and meditate upon her words…

“Whenever I go to the chapel, I put myself in the presence of our good Lord, and I say to Him, “Lord, I am here. Tell me what you would have me do.”

If He gives me some task, I am content, and I thank Him.

If He gives me nothing, I still thank Him, since I do not deserve to receive anything more than that.

And then, I tell God everything that is in my heart.❤️

I tell Him about my pains and my joys, and then I listen to.

If you listen, God will also speak, for, with the good Lord, you have to both speak and listen.

God always speaks to you when you approach Him plainly and simply.”
