Mocha, Mercy and Mondays – Giving Drink to the Thirsty

Give Drink to the Thirsty. The second corporal work of mercy makes me think of the word "simple".  Simple, because I am lucky enough to not live in a third world country.  I only need to walk ten steps to get to clean, running water.  I know it's 10 steps, because I just counted. Meanwhile, in Guatemala, women like Edelmira, walk twenty minutes from their houses to a community tank where there … [Read more...] about Mocha, Mercy and Mondays – Giving Drink to the Thirsty

From My Heart: The 10 things I want all women considering adoption to hear . . .

From My Heart to Yours: Thank you.  Thank you for taking the time to seriously consider this option.  It's not easy, but it demonstrates how much you care about the life of your child.  Thank goodness pregnancy is typically nine months and not nine weeks.  Taking the time to consider an adoption plan is admirable - even though not everyone will agree. The officer replies, "2,200 souls on board, sir". His response really struck me.  I … [Read more...] about Soul Searching

How “The Secret” Reinforced My Faith

Your Kindness should be known to all.  The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.  Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7 A few years ago I heard my brother-in-law talking about "The Secret".  He spoke with such … [Read more...] about How “The Secret” Reinforced My Faith

When New Year’s Resolutions are Out of Your League . . .

Do you make New Year's Resolutions?  What's your take on "giving something up for Lent"?  Personally, I don't even bother making New Year's Resolutions.  As for Lent, I think I gave up Facebook a couple of times, but have been "lazy" with truly reflecting on and persevering with either.  I can honestly tell you that I have never, ever said,"I will eat less chocolate".  This year will be no … [Read more...] about When New Year’s Resolutions are Out of Your League . . .
